A woman was fatally struck while walking in Seekonk with her 11-year-old son. The driver, who fled, has been arrested, authorities say.


A 37-year-old lady was fatally struck by a Jeep Cherokee whereas she was strolling in Seekonk together with her 11-year-old son on Thursday night. Now, the alleged driver, who fled the scene, has been discovered and is being charged.

Jeremy Schmidt, 27, of East Windfall, Rhode Island, was arrested by Rhode Island State Police round four:30 a.m. Friday. He’s being charged with leaving the scene of an accident leading to demise, negligent operation of a motorcar, and a marked lanes violation, in line with a information launch from the Bristol County District Legal professional’s Workplace.
