A Kolkata-Agartala Air India flight was delayed for round two hours on Sunday after a swarm of bees was present in entrance of the plane whereas it was taxing down the principle runway in Kolkata, an airways official mentioned.
The aircraft with 136 passengers and crew members on board the AI 743 flight was scheduled to depart at 9:40 am.
The bees had been noticed by the pilots when the Airbus A319 was shifting in direction of the runway for take-off. The pilots stopped the plane as additional motion might have broken the aircraft and harmed the passengers if the bees had been to enter inside by the engines, the Air India spokesperson mentioned.
Fireplace providers personnel had been known as in to deal with the issue. After checking that the bees didn’t enter the plane nor any harm was brought on to the aircraft, the flight was given a go-ahead.
The flight was earlier delayed for a while on account of a technical snag. The aircraft lastly left for Tripura at 12:45 pm.
